Colorado Springs, CO, October 25, 2021 - Axellio, a US-based system developer and integrator, today announced that Scott Welles has joined the company as Vice President, Federal Business Development & Government Sales. In this position, Welles will develop and grow the sales of Axellio’s products and services in the government sector, including the Department of Defense (DoD).
Welles brings to Axellio more than 30 years of experience in the public sector, leading diverse business portfolios across numerous agencies, including the Department of Defense, Justice/FBI, Homeland Security, and the Department of Transportation, among others.
Welles joins Axellio from management and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. (NYSE: BAH), for whom he worked since 1987. Welles held a number of executive leadership positions for the firm, most recently working as Vice President in the Justice, Homeland Security, and Transportation Account. In that post, Welles was responsible for account market development and leadership of DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), FBI, and Transportation portfolios.
Prior to that position, Welles was Vice President, Strategic Integration Group at BAH, where he was responsible for large-scale Engineering & Science opportunity capture and proposal leadership, talent development, and capability development & integration. Welles earlier worked as Vice President, Army Account, Acquisition and Sustainment Portfolio, overseeing an Army material enterprise and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) portfolio.

Welles holds a master’s of science/electrical engineering from George Washington University, and a bachelor’s of engineering/electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
